Meet Yumyum! The McDonalds cat - our new family member

We found this cat at the McDonald's in town a few weeks ago. Hungry, dirty and afraid. He ran away when we got to close, but did come back when we left food. My mother called the local cat rescue and they set up a trap and caught this little fellow in it. My mother offered to keep him at her place as a fosterhome until we could find a proper family to care for him. At first he laid down and ate, didn't have enough strenght to go pee or poo (he lay in his on pee more than one time). My mother gave him a bath and he was so filthy, some which seemed to be oil from hiding under cars and such. He was also swollen in his face from small wounds. All though he was afraid you could see he looked for affection. If you just talked gently and streched out your hands he immidiately started to cuddle with you. He went through a veterinary examination and they could search for id in case he was a cat that simply had got lost or away from it's owner. But he had no ear tattoo or chip. Alex and I have said that we shouldn't get more animals since we have so many! But this guy was so gentle and sweet. We have a house now, wich means more space. We talked to the animal shelter and agreed to give him a permanent home - unless none of the other cats or animals would be really uncomfortable with him.

It all went well, he is still afraid of the dogs (understandable) he have met them a few times, but is kept on the upstairs while the dogs are downstairs. First we tried to name him "Hannibal" but it never really suited him. We came up with "Yumyum" (from Christian Bales role in Mio min mio haha). Yumyum was a more cute and fitting name for him. I'm so glad we managed to rescue this little guy! You have no idea.
